Żonqor is a broad platform of flat rock at the northern edge of Marsaskala, with ladders bolted along the edge and deep water below them. There is no sand and no soft ground. The people who swim here every morning come for that.
Dogs are allowed, which is unusual on this coast, and divers use the point as an entry. Parking is on the road behind. The rock faces east into open sea, so any wind from that direction makes it unusable. There is nowhere to shelter once you are down there.

Which winds this bay can take
It is sheltered from the south round to the south-west and the west round to the east-north-east. There is no open water on those bearings for a wind to build a swell across. It is open to the east round to the south-east, where the sea runs for kilometres before it reaches this shore. A wind out of the south-south-east and the west-south-west has some water to work with but not the full run.
