These terms cover the use of maltacentral.com. Using the site means accepting them. They are written to be read. Nothing in them is intended to remove a right you have under Maltese or EU consumer law.
What this site is
Malta Central is a reference and guide site. It is not a booking agent, a travel agency, a government service or a professional adviser. Where we describe a permit, a tax, a fee or a legal requirement, we are describing our understanding of how the process works. We also point at the authority that decides. That is information, not advice on your circumstances.
Fees, timetables, opening hours and entry requirements change, sometimes without notice. We check pages and date them, but a dated page is a statement about when we looked, not a guarantee that nothing has moved since. Confirm a fact with the operator or authority named on the page before you rely on it. This matters before you catch a boat, make a payment or submit an application.
Accuracy and liability
We put real effort into being right and we correct errors when we find them or when you tell us. We cannot promise the site is complete, current or error-free, and we are not liable for loss arising from relying on it. Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury or fraud caused by us, which cannot be excluded by law.
Other people’s sites
We link out constantly, because pointing at the body that owns a fact is how this site works. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, their prices or their handling of your data. A link is not an endorsement, and where a link earns us a commission it is marked, as set out in the affiliate disclosure.
Content and copyright
The writing, photography, data compilations, design and code on this site belong to Malta Central unless credited otherwise on the credits page. You are welcome to quote a short passage with a link back. You may not republish pages wholesale, scrape the site to rebuild its data, or pass its content off as your own. Where we use material under an open licence, the licence and its holder are credited and their terms govern that material.
What you send us
If you submit an event, a business listing or a correction, you confirm two things. You are entitled to send it, and it is accurate as far as you know. You give us permission to publish it, edit it for length and style, and keep it on the site. We are not obliged to publish anything, and we check submissions before they appear. Do not send us anything confidential.
Acceptable use
Do not attempt to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site. Do not harvest personal data from it, or use automated tools to copy it at scale. Ordinary search engine crawling is welcome.
Changes and governing law
These terms may change as the site does. The current version is always the one on this page. Maltese law governs them, and the courts of Malta have jurisdiction. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stands.
