What’s on this weekend

Everything happening this weekend, refreshed as it is confirmed.

What is on over the next few days, drawn from the calendar and checked before it goes in.

If nothing above appeals

May to September

There is always a festa somewhere

From May to September there is almost always a village festa (a village feast) on. It will usually be better than anything ticketed. The bands play from Friday, the main procession is on Sunday, and the fireworks go up late on Saturday and Sunday nights.

It costs nothing and nobody is performing for visitors.

Pick a bay instead

If the wind has closed the coast you were planning on, the other side of the island is usually flat. The beach picker ranks every bay against the current wind.

The islands are small enough that swapping the bay is easier than swapping the plan.

Valletta after dark

The capital now has the best evening on the islands. Small wine bars and restaurants fill the side streets, busy from early and finished by about one.

No ticket, no planning, and it works on a wet Tuesday in February.
