Divers come here for the pinnacle offshore. It is a submerged spire of rock rising out of deep water, a short swim from the point. It is one of the best dives in Gozo. From the shore it is a plain rocky headland with a concrete pier. A long road leads down from Għajnsielem and there is space to park.
Entry is off the rock or the pier and the water is deep almost immediately. There is no sand, no shade and nothing to buy. People come here for a specific reason rather than to spend the day.
This is a dive site as well as a swimDive centres run guided shore dives here for qualified divers and beginners alike.

Which winds this bay can take
It is sheltered from the west-south-west round to the east-north-east. There is no open water on those bearings for a wind to build a swell across. It is open to the east-south-east and the south-south-east round to the south-west, where the sea runs for kilometres before it reaches this shore. A wind out of the east and the south-east has some water to work with but not the full run.

Measured as metres of open water on each bearing out from the shore. This is the bay’s own geography and it does not change; whether it is swimmable this afternoon is the reading at the top of the page, which also weighs how hard the wind is actually blowing.

Struck through means it is not there. Facilities at a Maltese bay are seasonal more often than not, so treat summer as the best case.
