Some chop. The wind is NW at 31 km/h.

Qbajjar is the next bay west of Marsalforn and the first of the salt-pan coast. The shore is pebble and low rock. The water stays shallow a long way out and the bottom is clean. It is one of the easier places in Gozo for small children.

The pans begin immediately west of it and the coast road runs behind, so it is a short walk from Marsalforn. There are a few restaurants along the road. It opens to the north-east and turns choppy quickly when the wind comes from there.

Which winds this bay can take

It is sheltered from the east round to the north. There is no open water on those bearings for a wind to build a swell across. It is open to the north-north-east round to the east-north-east, where the sea runs for kilometres before it reaches this shore.

Measured as metres of open water on each bearing out from the shore. This is the bay’s own geography and it does not change; whether it is swimmable this afternoon is the reading at the top of the page, which also weighs how hard the wind is actually blowing.
