The Malta Book Festival runs from 4 to 8 November at the MFCC in Ta’ Qali. This year’s guests include the Scottish crime writer Ian Rankin.
The Spanish novelist Esther García Llovet is also on the programme. It is the 47th edition, and the theme is Uncover the Story.
What the festival is
The National Book Council runs it. Entry is free, both to the festival and to every event on the programme.
There are book launches, author talks, workshops, theatre and activities for children.
Last year there were more than 40 exhibitors and more than 100 events. Over 40,000 people came.
A voucher for students
The National Book Council says students receive a €20 book voucher. Check the council’s page for who qualifies and how to use it.
Opening times
Wednesday 4 and Saturday 7 November are the two full days, from 09:00 to 21:00. Sunday closes at 20:00.
On Thursday and Friday the hall closes between 13:00 and 17:00. The day-by-day times are on the festival page.
