Ta’ Ħaġrat is a small prehistoric temple on the edge of Mġarr, older than Malta’s famous ones and far less visited.
It has one rule that catches people out: tickets are not sold on site. There is no ticket booth at the gate.
Where to buy a ticket
Heritage Malta sells tickets online. You can also buy one in the village, at the Mġarr Local Council office.
Three local businesses sell them too: Mġarr Farmers Bar, Il-Barri Restaurant and Il-Gastronawt. Each keeps its own hours, so check before you rely on one.
Prices
- Adult (18+): €3.50.
- Youth (12–17), senior (60+) and student concessions: €3.
- Child (6–11): €2.50.
- Under 6, Heritage Malta members and Malta Heritage Passport holders: free.
When it opens
The temple keeps limited days rather than opening every day like the larger sites. Confirm the current days and times with Heritage Malta before you buy, since a wasted trip cannot be refunded at the gate.
It stands beside Mġarr’s parish church, a short walk from the village centre.
