The Eurovision Song Contest is held in Burgas, on the Bulgarian coast, after Bulgaria won for the first time in 2026. There are two semi-finals, on 11 and 13 May, and the final on 15 May.
Malta competes. Which song goes is decided at the national selection in January, and the date for that has not been announced.
The Maltese selection
PBS runs a national final in January, usually over several nights, and it is shown on TVM. Tickets for it normally appear in December. It is the one Eurovision event most people here actually attend.
Malta first entered in 1971, dropped out after 1975 and came back in 1991. It has competed every year since then and has never won. Second place in 2002 and again in 2005 are the best results so far.

The semi-finals and the final are shown live on TVM. Bars and clubs in Paceville and St Julian’s put the final on, and it starts at 9pm Malta time.
Malta will be drawn into one of the two semi-finals. Which one is decided at a draw a few months before, so check nearer the time.
