Ramlet il-Qortin is one of the quietest corners of the Marfa ridge. It is a rocky shore below the tower of the same name, with no road down to the water. The last part is done on foot over uneven ground.
Very little open water lies in front of it. It is one of the more reliable swims here when the north is rough. There is no shade and nothing provided, so everything has to come with you.
It is sheltered from the north-north-east round to the west-north-west. There is no open water on those bearings for a wind to build a swell across. A wind out of the north-west round to the north has some water to work with but not the full run.
